It is a non-governmental organization based in Paris with a mission to promote 'polices that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.' OECD does this through economic research and analysis, committee work, publication, and information dissemination. Events related to its 50th Anniversary focus on OECD's contribution worldwide to economic policy, cooperation and development.
