Biology: Find Journal Articles

Use this guide as your first stop to finding and using the Biology resources and services of the UC San Diego Library.

Biology subject resources

Find resources in your area of research. If you don't see your subject listed, look at the full list or contact me.

Selected Biology Databases

Search one or more of these databases for authoritative journal articles. If you can't find what you're looking for, check out our Databases A-Z list, or contact me.

If you're accessing Library resources from an off campus location, you need to configure your computer for off-campus access.

How do I get the article?

In most of our databases, you'll see a Get it at UC button near each reference. In PubMed you need to click to the abstract to see this button.

Clicking the Get it at UC button may open up the article automatically, or you will see options to get the article:

- Online, if available (usually displays automatically, if not use the "Get it Online from" section to link to article)
- In print ("Find a Copy" section links to the UC Library Search catalog)
- Via interlibrary loan ("Get it at UC") if we don't have the article.
